Where to buy safe needles/syringes from

can any one inform me of what I need in the way of needles/syringes to self inject. I have order b12 depot rotexmedical from versandapo and a sharps box from amazon, but I am so confused on the rest of what I should buy. My go will only give me injections every 3 months and for 5 weeks of the 12 I’m a wreck, so thought I’d self inject. I thought I’d do subcutaneous rather than intramuscular as the needle size is a bit scary.... thanks so much

I've got green needles to draw it up. 21G

For sc 27-30g used. 5/8 or I think 1/2" long. Syringes need to be comparable with needles. I must check mine are today!!

I am a complete novice and not actually done it yet as IM one at surgery only just done.

But that is the I formation I've gleaned from very helpful members.

There are many posts if yoh have a look.

I get my medical sundries from medisave.co.uk.

I initially bought 1ml syringes but now prefer 2ml. Also, I initially bought Terumo needles but these didn't seem very sharp. A district nurse who was showing me how to self inject said the needles and syringes that I bought were crap.

I now use BD products - specifically the mircolance 23g 1.25" needles, but these are probably a bit big for subcut injections.

My advice, don't buy the cheapest products - needles/syringes are often in packs of 100 so even the more expensive ones will work out to be pennies per jab.

Good luck

I go to my local drug and alcohol centre. They provide needles, syringes and sharps boxes free of charge and dispose of full sharps boxes
