Functional doctor checking everything!

I posted here before about my suspected low B12 and my experience with my unsympathetic GP. I visited my consultant who was also not interested in listening to me. In fact he was taking blood while I was telling him I was sure I was low in B12 again and he didn't bother to even check it even though I had a fast heart rate and was breathless!

As I was getting nowhere with either my consultant or GP I decided to invest in a visit to a functional doctor. Expensive but he took a thorough history from me and ordered some investigations. As I was on supplements containing B12 for months before this and with a history of B12 deficiency he ordered an intrinsic factor antibody and parietal cell antibody test. His own suggestion not mine! :O

This morning I had about ten vials of blood taken for various different things and I am really hoping that I will get some answers as to how I can start feeling better.

Based on what I've learned from here I don't think it's likely I have PA but it feels good to have a doctor trying to figure out what's going on and one I don't have to try fight against!

Still unsure what to make of the functional approach. I will be on my guard but some of it does seem like it might ring true. Has anyone ever been to one?

I think I’ll stick with my conventional, if dysfunctional (B12 injection-refusing) doctor.....

Nice find. You are lucky to find someone doing some sensible investigation for you. I would say there’s no guarantee functional doctors would be better - no doctors seem to really have looked into it and fully understood optimal protocols.

I do not know what the best site is, but I share n General Health Care Services Abroad ; the doctor got poor ratings on Yelp. I am not sure that you can choose wisely, but I was impressed with the knowledge and ability of this doctor who is the emeritus chair of a department at the Mass General Hospital in whole world here is more info about icloudhospital.com/general_...
