Medicheck results - should I go back to GP?

Hi first post on here.

I’ve been back& forwards to GP a couple of times a year for 5 yrs + with exhaustion, palpitations, brain fog, forgetfulness and lots of other symptoms and always get told my results are normal. My symptoms have got a lot worse over the last few months especially palpitations, anxiety (not experienced before) and constant fatigue.

I had a Medicheck Well Vit blood test done and results have come back with most in the normal range except but a couple seem borderline:

Vit D - 39.3 nmol/L (50 - 175)

B12 - 69.6 pmol/L (37.5 - 188)

Ferritin - 18.9 ug/L (13 - 150)

Is it worth going back to the GP or would I be better getting some strong supplements to try?

Thanks in advance for any help

Your B12 is the only one which looks ok! You need to get your vitamin D up. That level will be making you feel shattered. Your iron needs a bit of a boost too. If your GP isn't particularly helpful, try supplementing for a few months and test again.

Do be wary of iron though, really high levels are dangerous

Thanks I wasn’t sure if the B12 was low or not will get a Vit D oral spray. I really struggle with iron tables was on them a while ago but they gave me awful stomach pains and side affects. Need to try and find something strong enough to make a difference but gentle enough for my stomach!

I recently asked advice about iron supplements - click on my name , then click on posts ..there is lots of useful advice.

I have recently started taking a different one, so too soon to know how I will react.

The doctor will advise you to take Vitamin D supplements. NHS advice is that everybody should take them in autumn and winter.

Your Active B12 is almost double the lower limit. The active test is supposed to be more accurate and precise than the serum test - so you can probably trust that result.

Iron is a little low. Doc will probably advise you to eat more meat and fish.
