Ferritin (iron)

although this forum has anaemia in the title it's not about iron based anaemia.

suggest that you consult a medical professional - eg doctor, nurse, or possibly pharmacist.

Personally not aware of anything that would contra-indicate - the plane will be pressurised so oxygen levels should be as normal.

Ferritin is only one measure of iron status - its generally quite good but doesn't tell the whole story so you would need to take professional advise about treatment anyway.

If your Hb is 76, that is very low and I would not travel with that but are we talking Hb or was it ferritin? The lack of oxygen from low Hb can in severe cases cause a heart attack. Hopefully you are being treated for this so I would ask the health care professional in charge of your care.

Hope it all works out

Best wishes
