"Student health" just say they have to register with a doctor and doctors say not taking new patients. I have found an NHS scotland email address that says they should be able to help her find one but no idea if they will.
She is tired, says her stomach hurts and has headaches regularly.
Not sure of the difference, but do you think it is PA or B12 deficiency and will she need more tests?
Your daughter must be feeling very unwell indeed with these B12, folate and vitamin D levels. Her TSH is a little raised, can I suggest you also post in the thyroid forum? They are very knowledgeable and may be able to help re Scotland.
I'm just thinking what I would do if she were my daughter.... I would personally be calling GPs in her area this morning and asking for someone to see her. Do they have an NHS Walk-in clinic nearby she could approach? As Nackapan says she needs to receive treatment asap.
Hi there, so sorry to hear your Daughter is poorly and struggling to find a GP, it will be a worry for you both, perhaps she’s already tried this one but my Daughter is also at Uni in Edinburgh and got in at Gilmore Practice, they have been excellent with her. Wishing your Daughter all the very best.
She found a g.p. to register with. Predictably, I suppose, they won't use the results paid for but want to do their own, so she has to go back for another round of blood tests next week before any treatment.
Thanks for the info. She is vegetarian but eats fish, eggs, dairy so I guess that should be sufficient. Not not sure what is being tested so will just have to wait and see.
Daughter found g.p. in Scotland and unsurprisingly they wanted to retest before doing anything about deficiencies.
These are the NHS results with note at bottom of intrinsic factor results to follow.
Appointment to discuss treatment booked for 3 weeks time as apparently they spotted the ferritin deficiency ( nothing else mentioned)! At least that gives us time to ask you all about how to approach with g.p., what to expect, what to do by ourselves coz NHS won't do it etc?
