Erratic heart beat

Hi, I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia 15 years ago, have B12 injections every 12 weeks, out of all the appalling symptoms the erratic heartbeat must be the worst, it's not all the time and I can go months without it happening but when it does boy is it scary, been happening for the whole time I've had this wretched disease, does anyone else out there suffer from the same thing, many thanks Dunc

Yes , I had that symptom too ( as well as many others) until I had the diagnosis of PA . I also was only given one injection every 3 months, which did not keep all the symptoms at bay .So I had to take matters into my own hands , and self -inject . I self-inject weekly and have no more symptoms , except that my previously numb feet just burn now non-stop . Perhaps you just need more regular injections . You should be able to get 2 monthly , with the new guide lines . Yes it is scary.

It is really scary!

I thought I was going to have a heart attack & keel over when it first started a few years ago.

Even though I now self inject regular, I still get it but not half as often as I used to though.

My Dr even gave me an ECG which was fine.

Hopefully after repairing all the other damage caused, it will disappear 🙏

Yes, loads - horrible, isn't it? It's fine if I get enough B12 and supporting supplements into me but it comes back if something upsets the balance and my B12 doesn't work properly.

It suggests that you need more B12. Either try to get more injections - see replies by Sleepybunny on this (go to her profile by double clicking on her name and look under the heading "replies") or try sublingual sprays or tablets, nasal sprays or patches.

Hi nobody has been able to diagnose what my health problems are. I have had endless blood tests, chest xrays, Heart Scans, Heart monitors, Full Body CT scans, Intrusive cancer checks and tests. I've had heart scares once when at the GP he said I was at 150 bps and needed to go to A&E there and then? I was kept in for 4 days as my blood needing thinning. Further heart tests showed nothing. About 6 months later I went straight to A&E when I had a flutter and my BPS was at 200 again nothing was found.

Then this week I had a slow beat of 40 bps and went to A&E and still they found nothing.

They said from a blood test my Folic acid levels were low and maybe contributing to my issue. Even getting some Folic pills from the doc's appeared to be an issue for them. Take these for 3 months await another 3 months and then check again. Just pushed back out the door again. They tell you not to worry as it makes things worse. I don't worry at all until I have a problem. If I wasn't concerned that my heart was at 40 or 200 I would need to have my brain checked to see if I have one. I'm awaiting a chest xray result (my 12th in 18 months) I have a lung function test booked (although I had one a year ago) While clearly my heart does have a problem on occasions the Doctors cannot diagnose what the issue is. (I am 59 male) My issues have been going on for 6 years now.

I follow a strict GF diet, no alcohol, etc Difficult to exercise much as i'm tired most of the time. I do force my self to walk for at least 30 minutes a day. Anyway? getting a correct diagnosis is for me impossible. In my opinion the general service a GP offers is pathetic. I must have seen 20 different doctors and they just try and get rid of you as quickly as possible. No interest in individuals at all. They just have targets to meet and boxes to tick, actual results don't really count for anything.

I'm not after advice, but just confirming the service from GP's for anything except a common cold or a sprained ankle is shocking. They are just fobbing patients off as much as possible and that's the opinion of many many people.

My general feeling is when I keel over completely "Quincy" maybe able to understand what the problem was as GP's are a waste of time.

All I can say is "good luck"
