Hi, I have a family history of PA, though I have never been diagnosed myself. I have been Hypothyroid for 5 years, since having had RAI for Hyperthyroid in 2013. I have posted the results for those on the TUK site.
I wondered if someone would be able to take a look at these results and let me know what you think as regards to the likelihood of my having PA please?
Iron 17umol/L (14-28)
B12 263ng/L (220-700)
Folate 2.3ng/ml (2.6-17.3)
Ferritin 31ng/ml (10-420)
Lab comment was that results are satisfactory, no further action..
My vitamin D was tested a week before and came back as 32nmol with advice to take between 1000 and 2000iu of cholecalciferol per day.
Any help would be most welcomed.

was the folate not highlighed as that is below range.
Assuming you have enough folate in your diet then result above would suggest you have an absorption problem and if you have an absorption problem with folate then chances are that B12 is an issue- difficult to really tell from one single measure - you really need a trend. The serum B12 test gives results in a range of +or - 20% and it isn't a gold standard test anyway.
