B12 Patches?

Hi,

I was diagnosed back in Dec 16, but I’ve noticed that the 3 months between injections just isn’t cutting it for me.

My doctor doesn’t want to seem to listen and has asked me to go for more bloods, to bring it down to 10 weeks, I know 10 weeks is still going to be to long for me, I’m back to how I feel before I was diagnosed, and it’s only week 5!!

I have just bought some “B12 Patches” has anyone tried patches before? And do they work?!

Thanks x

Before I was forced to take the decision to self inject B12 , I tried EVERY possible way to supplement B12 . Patches , sub-lingual lozenges , nose spray , sub lingual mouth spray ,and tablets . All to no avail . But you will very likely get messages telling you how successful some of those methods are . We are all different , and they may well work for you . So why not try ?

If they do not , and your GP will not agree to more frequent injections , come back here ,and you can find out how to self-inject . Cost ?About £1.00 per injection if you buy everything in bulk (100) Best wishes .

Hi thanks for your reply, I have looked down the self injecting route, but I’m worried. How do I know what I’m buying is actually B12 and not some random stuff in a Vial?

Thanks x

Many people on this site use a German online pharmacy to get our B12 ampoules , not vials . These German pharmacies are strictly controlled and very reliable . I use

versandapo.de in English

Yes type all that in and you get straight through to them . Search for Hydroxocobalamin. A drop-down list appears . Click on Hydroxocobalamin acetat and you will get the choice . I buy 100 ampoules for €55 .00 and pay €9.00 for the courier (Rotexmedica 1mg x 1ml )

Needles syringes etc obtainable from Medisave.uk

A shot costs about £1.00 when you buy in bulk. Useby date almost 3years ahead

Give it some thought . This pharmacy is 100% reliable ,

Hi, the patches certainly helped me and I found them much more effective than sublingual lozenges or sprays. I self-inject now and have seen the greatest improvement from that although its still early days and improvement is erratic. However, I still keep a few packets of the Vie patches around as a fallback for when I am unable to SI for a while or just having a particularly stressful day.

They may work for you, they may not, its worth a go. In the long run though, even if they work its quite an expensive way of doing it (I had to use much more than the 1 a week they recommend) and if you have neurological symptoms then you should definitely consider self-injection. Its daunting at first, but you soon get used to it.
