I have had peripheral nerve issues for months. I have been taking methyl for about3 weeks and iron folic supplements for a few days. Had tests today come back folic 5.96, b12 675, ferritin 66.5. Doc says I have no anemia amd no idea why I am having the tingling, panic attacks and very strong pulse in my neck and head. I am often very sensative to cold when an attack comes on, as well as chills often.i have what seems to be fatigue sometimes as well.Any thoughts as previous tests showed anemic trend

Hi Craigalaht
It is not uncommon for some symptoms to appear to get worse before they get better as the B12 you are supplementing starts repairing the damage done to your nervous system and your brain starts getting multiple messages from part of the body it had "forgotten about" or lost contact with.
I sometimes liken it to a badly tuned radio on which you have turned the volume up high trying to catch the programme you want when all of a sudden the signal comes in loud and clear and the blast nearly deafens you.
A lot will depend on the severity and longevity of your B12 deficiency as to how long before there is no further improvement or recovery.
Some symptoms will "disappear" quite quickly whereas others may take months or even years. There is no set timescale as we are all different.
I am not a medically trained person but I've had P.A. (a form of B12 deficiency) for more than 45 years.
I wish you well
.
You don’t have to have Anaemia to have PA .Pernicious Anaemia is certainly Pernicious , but the Anaemia is a misnomer . Most doctors do not know this . B12 and B9 (folate/ folic acid ) Anaemia( Macrocytosis ) occur when the deficiency is advanced . Even if you have high B12 , it doesn’t mean that it is getting to your cells . Injections would be a good idea, but difficult to get if you do not have a diagnosis , and that is also difficult to obtain because the test is extremely unreliable .
Luckily I live in Thailand where we can sort of command as needed. That's what I did yesterday and did get my first injection
