With the 6 B12 loading injections

and the GP possibly giving a Blood test in three weeks is it good idea to

take sublingual tablets 1000ug in between loading injections as the

Blood test B12 should be high anyway

as GP would be looking at low B12 result? These are cyanocobalomin sublingual and injections are Hydr

thanks

To be honest there is absolutely no point in your gp doing a review blood test that soon after loading. You have just taken onboard enough to sink a battleship! I learnt the hard way because my gp did all my tests whilst i was being loaded and of course they came back high! It would be a better indicator if they redid them after at least three months then that way you would possibly get a better picture.

The British Medical Journal, the British Committee on Standards in Haematology and the National Institute for health and Clinical Excellence all agree that testing for B12, once treatment has started, is pointless.

My summary document includes links to these documents with the relevant bits excerpted. It's in the third pinned post.
