The ampoules are tinted glass so the B12 looks darker.

The first injection is the biggest hurdle when self-injecting, but, like the dentist, the fear of it is far worse than the actual experience. After two or three, you will hardly think any more of self-injecting than brushing your teeth.

Unless you have extracted the B12, it's difficult to know the colour, as the ampoules are a dark brown . I think you're worrying yourself uneccessarily

I just wondered why they seemed darker from Germany... But if it's the glass I do feel an idiot lol... Tbh I'm trying to not think look or ponder too much.. Apart from on here which I love as it's reassuring and knowledge is key... When the needles arrive I will unpack as do one straight away, so I don't ponder on it.. X

Don't be nervous! I totally understand your jitters as it is ingrained that we don't go around sticking sharp objects into ourselves needlessly. However, this is not needless. You will feel a great weight has lifted off your shoulders once you have self injection under control. To overcome my anxiety I smack my thigh hard, pinch up a good handful of my thigh and count to three and insert needle. I was advised to make sure I have eaten a meal beforehand (I do have low blood pressure) and just rest for 5 minutes before I start rushing around. It's easy peasy! Good luck.

I totally understand your nervousness. I was fortunate enough that the nurses at my GP surgery were willing to teach me how to self inject - they were brilliant and very encouraging and supportive. I did it a couple of times being supervised before I felt confident enough to do it at home - and it is so quick and easy now. I tend to put the cap from the needle between my teeth and bite on it as I push the needle in - it works for me! Oh, and I always warm the ampule in my hands for a few minutes to bring it to body temperature before using.
