Has anyone stopped taking cardopa/levadopa and switched to mucana, if so what else helps. I have l-tyrosine, 5 htp,l-cystien. I also have green tea extract, doesn't that help the mucana cross the blood brain barrier. I just want to try again, I take two 25/100 4 times a day, and two of the ER 50/200 at bedtime . I'm not sure how much mucana I would have to take. Any ideas. Thank you, Maria

Mucuna pruins
I use Barlowe's 40% Mucuna which comes in 650mg capsules. I take one capsules 4x per day, every 6 hours. So my daily l-dopa dose is just over 1 gram. There are plenty of Mucuna 20% products on the market. I just bought one from Amazon made by VH Nutrition that seems to work pretty well. If you take one of the 20% products just double the 40% dose. You might need to experiment a bit to find the proper dosage. I've been using MP for two years and so far it's working for me. I've never been on the pharmaceutical l-dopa, so I don't know what the transition from C/L to MP would be like. Maybe you could switch over in stages. Probably the guidance of an alternative health professional, such as a naturopathic doctor, would be useful. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
Seems like a lot of c/l. I use to take the same amount but not at bedtime. It made me very tired. So now I’ve switched to Mucuna. ( not completely). Not as effective on tremor but I’m no longer a zombie. So when I’m stressed and don’t want to shake at work I’ll take c/l.
I’ve heard before that green tea helps Mucuna cross the blood brain barrier.
