chronic pancreatitis?

hello, please note I have an existing rare autoimmune disease called Adult Onset Stills Disease of rheumatology speciality. I fear I may have chronic pancreatitis or autoimmune pancreatitis due to symptoms however the locum GP who rang me to discuss raised amylase in my blood tests is referring me for a colonoscopy and gastroscopy even though three stools tests and urine were clear. My question is will these tests provide a diagnosis? In the meantime I’m ill and in pain, losing weight and taking omeprazole as prescribed. I’m now over a month alcohol free and healthy eating. Thanks in advance.

I too have an autoimmune disease Rhuemtoid Arthritis. I'm waiting for a colonoscopy and to see a Gastroenterologist. Recent CT scan showed significant Diverticulor disease and gastro dept say severe enzyme insufficiency and to start me on Creon. My GP will contact me about as I'm also advised to see a dietician. Advised to have a blood test IDG1 auto immune test. I don't drink hardly at all except one or two glasses of wine at the weekend and sometimes none at all. So I'm thinking as I have an auto immune disease for 17 years is it attacking my body? I've had to stop my biological injections which is a shame.

that’s interesting as Adult Onset Stills Disease for me manifests as RHEUMATOID DISEASE. Diagnosed aged 17 now 61 and I’m aware that Stills can cause organ damage and/or trigger AIP and AH, unfortunately the locum GPs telephone calls are not assisting a diagnosis of whatever’s going on with me now. I’m in your court on the AI causing chronic organ damage.

I’m veggie so hope there is an alternative to Creon if I get prescribed this, currently I have stopped codeine for joint pain and am taking Omeprazole. Worryingly I’ve read that some HRT may be ill advised with pancreatic conditions but I can’t validate this so will stick with my patches for now as hot flushes and rages are the last thing I need when feeling fragile as I do now.

Thanks for your reply, I wish you better days.

PS: I’m a Jacqueline 😉

Hi Jacqueline. How confusing life is! I'm yet to start Creon . Fortunately at 76 I'm in no need of HRT. I hope you also have better days J.

If your poop floats and there’s a lot of undigested food in it then you have it. Especially if you’re loosing weight.
