Hello, all my life when I have a cold, I lose my taste and smell. I have never had it treated, I usually take flu medication and after 3 days I am fine but I would like to treat it. Do you have treatment? What specialty treats you?

I think that's a very normal reaction to cold / flu experience.
Taking " clearing" medications might open up the olfactory senses and help?
Good luck.
I really wouldn’t worry if you find it comes back after 3 days. Longer term could be a worry but not for such a short period of time.
There are plenty of “over the counter” medications such as Vicks, or menthol sweets that can help.
Suggest you speak to your pharmacist and see what they recommend.
I think this is fairly normal for a cold/flu with the majority of people experiencing this. Not sure this is a suitable post for a thread called "pain concern" which focuses on patients who suffer from predominantly chronic pain.Maybe try talking with a pharmacist who could recommend something?
