Just wanted to say sorry to hear of your daughter’s situation. I hope somebody comes along with some advice. However I just wanted to mention that this is predominantly a UK site although of course people are free to join from all over the world. I’m just mentioning it because you may get more responses from a site predominantly in USA. Have you checked facebook because there might be sites on there that can help you.

Sorry, I have no legal advice or experience to share but I do have CRPS and I just wanted to say that with this condition it is even more important than for most medical conditions to do everything you can for mental health. Most important of all, your daughter must believe she can get better! Tamara Gurin wrote a great book on her recovery, just google her name.

l can’t help as in UK. Just want to say how sorry l am for your daughter and what is going on in her life. I hope the future will be much better and sometimes things happen so that life changes for the better. I have been through divorce and it’s a horried and hurtful experience, but l met someone else who really cared about me and l never looked back. Maybe things have to change for her to get better and she will be well rid of the anxiety. She might not think it, or see it, but the best is yet to come. This will pass.

Hi Pizon. If that is the only reason your daughter's husband is divorcing her then he's a Pig! Whatever happened to "In sickness and in Health"? Do some research on your computer and see if you can find a free Lawyer. I am a Kiwi so I don't know how things work in the U.S. but have heard that you can access a lawyer who would be prepared to help you. Go right to the top and put your case to the Head of the Legal Assn. you have nothing to lose. At least they would advise you where to go from there. I do hope you have some success. God Bless. Lauree

I'm in USA and have CRPS is she getting disability benefits? And in your state look up legal aid and they should be able to help or point her in the right direction.

thank you for your reply..no she is not getting disability benefits it is being discussed with her dr,’s but at this point there is no way she could live off of the amount she would be eligible for…and there is no legal aid available in our state unless there is physical abuse reported and thankfully that is not the case she is researching other options

I can't help on the legal side as I'm in UK but I went through this with my first husband. In his words I was basically lazy and lying about my CRPS (I'd had CRPS for 9 years at this point) and his family thought so too.We were divorced pretty quickly.

I have now been married for 10 years to a man who is the complete opposite to my husband. He is loving and incredibly supportive even on my worst days.

I do hope the future will be better for your daughter without all the stress of her soon to be ex husband
