I have cervical spondylitis and have a pinched nerve. I get these bee sting pain in my neck, probably where the nerve is pinched. Today it only stops when I lie down. I have been in major depression all week and cannot get out of it. The pain of arthritis is constantly there. Meds help me rest, and anti depressants usually works. I am so sick and tired of worsening pain. Sorry for bringing anyone down but no one else can relate other than the nice people here. Thanks for reading this post.

Pain in my neck
Have you seen a physiotherapist for help and advice? ? stretching ? acupuncture. It is difficult learning to live with a disability. Live in the good moments if you can. All the best.
thank you for replying. I had 6 weeks of physical therapy and do the exercises at home now. My insurance doesn’t cover acupuncture. I have learned to make life style changes and wear a soft cervical collar often for computer, and cooking and most important for swimming. I am used to daily pain and have some mild painkillers. I actually find cannabis very helpful for sleeping and the depression. I don’t post very often because no one usually replies so I appreciate your response and caring. Thanks
Cannabis--even the mildest and minute amount--puts me into orbit for about 12 hours and I come very near to walking outside in my underwear. Perhaps I should get a smaller pair of skivvies and a bigger tip jar.
I understand completely. I fell a number of years ago. That fall resulted in major injury to my cervical region. As well, prior to that, my neck was severely cranked in jiu jitsu. Nothing has helped, no epidurals, anything (and those epidurals HURT!) I have major lumbar damage from years of heavy weightlifting, bartending, forestry, firefighting, yadda yadda. Nobpdy seems to get it, not even the doctors. I don't use pain meds as they screw up the organs and the brain. I don't even use NSAIDs/ Just soaking in hot tub, using ice packs, and cursing the demon-"god" on a regular basis. Also trying gin-soaked raisins. I'd prefer to soak my brain in gin and if anybody says anything, to throw the raisins at said person.
sorry to hear you have the nasty neck pain.I find a soft cervical collar helps alot for computer work, counter work and as a passenger in car. I have one for swimming too. I can’t take anti inflammatory medication, messes up my stomach. No opioids yet lol. I also had a heavy lifting job in my forties and pulled muscle in lumbar spine. After awhile it became chronic sciatica as arthritis set in. Now my knee is getting arthritis pain. Really makes me feel my age. I can only walk for exercise and I went to physical therapy and still use the exercises they gave me. Cannabis has become the best medication for sleeping with pain. You need to experiment to find the amount that helps. I buy indica strains makes me happy and sleepy. Sativa cannabis is more uplifting and many people find it anxiety related. My dr. knows, it shows in bloodwork. Good luck, trying things is the only way to find what works best. My dr. suggested pain management which means injections and opiods. Some day I may have too but not yet. Have a great day, thanks for replying.
Those injections did zip for me, but do help some. I found a bunch of silicone doodads for the cervical and lumbar region on Temu. Also, inflatable cervical stretchers (haven't tried those yet, but a P,A, at pain clinic recommended them. For four bucks, why not?) My whole living room is filled with physical therapy devices. Trying everything. As for cannabis, I've tried it four or five times in my life and explained to the people at the dispensaries I do NOT want anxiety, etc. I got whacked out anxiety--terrifying psychoses--each and every time. Forget it!
Hi again. Terribly debilitating, I know. I read of an old folk remedy for arthritis. Gin-Soaked Raisins. Get Golden Raisins (though some have been recalled just a week ago from a certain company), put them in a bowl. Get quality gin (because you need the real juniper)--I use New Amsterdam--very smooth--deelish with Sunny Delight, btw:)--anyway, pour the gin in bowl until raisins are covered. Let sit for a bout a week, until gin is soaked up by raisins. Then eat nine a day--about a small teaspoon full. I don't know if it works, but my typoes per minute have gone WAy up!
