Radiating Pain

I have been having a radiating, kind of sharp pain in my shoulders that radiates up into my neck and head and behind my eye. Is there a nerve that runs through this route? I am not sure if what i am feeling is nerve or muscle pain. Has anyone ever experienced this before and what can you do for it?

It is a possibility that it is referred pain from a nerve in your neck. This blog post from a physio might explain it. It is technical but it has good diagrams.

So it could be a combination of referred nerve pain caused by something going on in your neck muscles that is causing the nerve to be compressed. It might be worth trying to see a physio or osteopath as they should be able to assess and recommend a treatment.

Hi there, I have and still get the pain that you mention neck and head and only left eye , how long as it been going on , you might be best asking your GP , might need a scan just to see what is going on , mine is caused by cervical myelopathy, good luck.

Have you tried pregabilin similar to gabberpentin but act differently on each individual , I swapped to pregabilin 300 mg twice daily and got a bit more relief.

Yes iv had it about 1 year now, had scans and taking gabapentan for nerve pain and getting phisio now

Yes it’s awful. It’s your neck shoulders. If you put your fingers st base of skull & massage it it will help release it. And your traps. Turn your neck to side chin to armpit. Try also moving your jaw ride to side and reach into your mouth and press your jaw down and chin tucks you’ll find warm shower helps. Tennis ball into traps.
