I have had back pain problems for years a mixture of Scoliosis and Spondylosis had minor op to free a trapped nerve in the back, which made no difference therefore have numb feet.

GP has tried various medication to help with pain and has just decided to put me on Lofepramine 70mg tablets one to be taken at night.

Has anyone else experience of taking this medication?

Did it help and how long after the first dose?

Thanks for any replies

Given it's an older antidepressant and this is an off label use, it's hard to tell how long it will take. I was on amitriptyline for both depression and to slow my gut a bit due to IBD. It did work, but almost too well as I became very constipated. Most of these tricylic meds also cause extreme dry mouth. I've tried three different ones. Due to dry mouth, I sleep with my mouth open and created a vast array of tiny cavities everywhere inside. I'd say it's worth a shot, just keep track of side effects overall. It shouldn't take as long to work as some other meds like SSRIs....all in theory.
