My Dr thinks it's,Poly Myalgia Rheumatica,my ... - Pain Concern
My Dr thinks it's,Poly Myalgia Rheumatica,my Specialist, thinks it Rheumatoid Arthritis,I'm stuck with all the pain
husband was initially diagnosed with paladromic rheumatism then poly myalgia (Mainly his shoulders affected) by a GP - saw a RA specialist who dismissed the diagnosis and said RA even though RA factor not active and put him on Sulphazalazine the added hydrochloracrine and when that had no affect methotrexate which caused serious side effects - finally a change of RA specialist to a Professor of RA gave him prednisone and 3 years later by taking a low dose (2.5mg per day) along with calcium and regular Dexa scans he’s leading a more or less normal life - it’s taken 23 years to get to this point - hope you get sorted - it’s such a worry
Thank you,seeing myGP this morning
I’ve had two gal friends acquire Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Prednisone is what helped both of them. What did your doctor decide you should try?
Blood tests back , they say it's not PMR, it's Osteoarthritis,in the neck shoulders elbow, knees, awaiting a knee replacement shortly,so I'm on 10mcg of MST,twice a day,and paracetamol 3 times a day,not touching me in agony, I'm at my wit's end with them all, want to try CBD, but I'm taking other medicine's, which tell me can't, best regards Keith.
I am in Canada and messing with the same diagnois. I won't do naproxen--come from a family of alcoholics and drug addicts. --I am on methotrexate and I don't even know if it is working--still in such pain!I can't help you but I'm sending you a ghost hug and a hope they can find something to help us.
Hey Diet , Diet , Diet I was told I have Fibromyalgia, RA,DDD, Scoliosis,Osteoarthritis,Osteoporosis,CFS,Herniated Disks. Two artificial hips that need to be replaced , been in 15 years on Pain Management. Was upto 175mcg/hr Fentanyl Patch 1x every 2 days, 4 x Opana IR 15mg, Soma 3x350mg, Xanax 3mg a day. Pain still not under control.
Than a year ago started to get off most medication, started 50-100 protein a day( protein shake plant based with 30 super foods) and with whole apple, 1/2cucumber, celery, 2 cloves of fresh Garlic)3servings a week of fish, beef, chicken or 2eggs a day. Than to detox I take 1Tsp olive oil with 1Tsp lemon juice. Pain after 6 months started to go away 1/4 . Then went to Nutritionist 6 months ago and take Biswalla( started at 500mg a day) R Liptioc Acid 500mg a day than after 3 months 1000 mg a day, MSM started 500 mg a day after two months increased to 500mg twice a day. After 6 months down to 37 mg Fentanyl 1every theee days ( that’s a 600% decrease) 2break through s of 10mg of oxycodone.( where the Opana total 60mg equaled 90 mg of oxycodone )And that’s it. Off everything else.
Get rid of all sugar, ( or as low as possible )breads, Carbohydrates and gentle excersise. I am 64 years old and never felt better in over 15 years. Medications only damage the body , most are synthetic which means your body can not digest it properly. The plan for me is get down to 40mg of morphine ER and 1 break through pain Med when needed. Especially since there is a major prescription shortage and it’s going to only get worse. Pharmaceuticals will not help you, they kill you. I worked at a major pharmaceutical company they do not have your best interest at all.
Hopes this helps.
My wife as psoriatic arthritis and found pain control difficult. Like you the GP and her rheumatologist had differing opinions. I insisted she be referred to the pain clinic. They changed her medications and placed her on a pain management program with great success. Pain can be a specialist area all on its own especially chronic long term pain.
