Since moving to a new area - I’ve had to reduce the MST I was taking. But it got to the stage, about a month ago, when pain was breaking through too much.
I’ve tried to reason with the GP on the phone but the dose continued to be cut. (During this period, a different GP from the surgery came out on a different matter- the first one who actually saw me and examined my back. )
As my tablets continued to be cut I decided to write a letter to the surgery. A friend dropped it off.
The next day the doctor who had come out to me phoned up and said the MST would be restored and was open to an opiate based medication to be used in difficult periods.
Has anyone else had a better response when writing a letter? I think it works better because you can include the full picture.

Sorry to read this. It’s quite disheartening that doctors don’t care about patients anymore. I had to fight for my life. I almost died in 2010 from severe sleep deprivation and improper pain control.
I acquired the surgery I needed by hiring and paying a registered nurse consultant. It saved my life. No medicine could control my severe pinched nerve athletic injury.
British Columbia, Canada doctors abused me and they did not follow the ‘Standard of Care’ at all. They wrote misrepresentations in every consult note, they committed fraud, I was dismissed, misdiagnosed with cyclothymia ( utter nonsense ) and neglected for years.
I was a victim of useless poly pharmacy! I needed surgery.
I’m doing better all the time but recovering from severe physical trauma takes a long long time. I am grateful to be alive. Doctors tried to kill me.
