Hey everyone, I'm 50, symptomatic for 10 years, diagnosed 2 years ago and I have a question about itchy skin. I'm following the grain free diet, and I feel way better in my spine. In the winter I get super itchy, and I live in a relatively warm climate( SF bay area). I'd trade it for poison oak any day, because that goes away=) Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks-Tim.

Sometimes medications taken like NSID can cause an itch, I get it in my hips and legs, it lasts for an hour or so then just stops,
In the past they used to say you needed a tonic as the blood was out of order, 1950s.
Nsid do affect the blood so that may be the cause. I take Celebrex.
Sometimes a trapped nerve can also cause problems, this can cause tingling from lumber region and knee through the thigh
I've had AS for 40 years and have been taking NSAID's for a lot of that time. The AS I can handle, but long term use of the NSAID's have now left me needing a kidney transplant.I would urge everyone on long term NSAID's to insist on kidney function tests at every appointment.Once the kidney failure starts, it's a slow decline to needing a transplant.
Hydracortisone Cream helps for your itchiness. I buy it almost anywhere and I have the itch mostly on my back. It won't interfere with your medication.
Natural remedy is old one of organic apply cider vinegar for itchy skin and lots of other reasons to keep a bottle handy at all times in the household. Here is a handy link I saw as I opened emails today. Can download whole book for $10 or just the page to start with and see if it benefits you. Itches are a real menace.
I get itchy back and always just where I cant reach it. Tried this and so far so good.
And I had bought prevent itch creams several different brands that didnt work or came back too soon.
