Gaviscon with flucloxcillan

does anyone know if I can take gaviscon double strength tablets while taking flucloxcillan ? I’ve tried looking on google but getting nothing, I have horrible acid reflux and these tablets aren’t helping, I’d phone doctors but it’s closed and I need to know now as I’m in pain, thank you

Give 111 a call to ask their out of hours doctors . I’m sure you will be ok to take gaviscon , but you need to speak with the out of hours team .

I’ve already tried that sat on the phone for 2 hours to no answer it’s so useless phoning them cause they never answer or take ages answering. Thank you though

Yes they will answer you. Bare in mind that Saturday might have been a bad day . Look gaviscon won’t hurt you , not one dose . I take it if I need it and also doctor prescribed me Omerprazole for acid reflux . I also have a hiatus hernia . I hope by now you have got a bit better.

The best place to ask this question is at your chemist. The pharmacist will actually be more up on these things and drug interactions than GPs. I hope you have found an answer by now, but in future, call your community pharmacy as they are probably less busy and more knowledgable.
