Gaviscon Advance and drug interactions

Does anyone know where I can find out if Gaviscon Advance will interfere with any of the medications I am taking?

Internet drug interaction checkers here in the USA do not recognize Gaviscon Advance.

Try your pharmacist, that is what they do, dispense, make and check medicines or your medics.

I live in the U.S. The several pharmacist I have asked have never heard of Gaviscon Advance , it is not in U.S. databases.

Good day Diver

I take Gaviscon advance for Lpr reflux. There are some medication that you shouldn’t take within 2 hours before or after taking Gaviscon.

I am not very technologically minded so can’t seem to be able to add a link that works.

However if you type in to your browser nhs.uk that gives a list.

Basically it’s antihistamines, antibiotics of the tetracycline and quinolone group, iron medication, steroids, beta blockers, anti psychotic medication,bisphosphonates for osteoporosis, PPI like omeprazole. These are the main ones. So to be on safe side try and leave 2 hours.

There are several sites on line that can give you the details you want, just type the drug into your search engine. I will have a quick look myself and try to get back to you .

If you are using Google to look for this information I suspect it is filtering the results to be US centric. You can temporarily change your Google settings to the UK, or use another browser like Duckduckgo:
