Hi folks hope you are all well. I have my mri scan results that show it is de quervains like I've been saying all along so I need surgery to release the tendons so the sheath a wrist needs slit to lem my tendons run freely. Its bern a long painful road the past 11 months !!! The thing is at my 3 month review the orthopedic did diagnose this then at 6 month review different orthopedic said it was crps which I've always disagreed with so I'm not too happy that u was forced into physiotherapy that in actual fact has made in worse !!! Will be putting in a complaint to head of orthopedic!!!!!

I am really pleased you have finally got the evidence! This is yet another case of clinician not listening to the patient.

Are you in the UK? It would be worth contacting PALS or Healthwatch to get support for making a formal complaint.

It is a shame though that people have to make complaints. It would be so much better to have a situation where the clinicians learn from their mistakes.

Hi cyberbarn thanks for the reply yes I'm in the uk the point is I've seen 5 different orthopedics since this injury but the 2nd one diagnosed this de quervains at my 3 month check up and none of them picked up on it and certainly didnt listen to me !!!! I've had 2 orthopedic doctors in the past say to me listen t the patients as they usually diagnose themselves.

Hi Aoibheann last time I made a complaint I went through my local councillor but this time I'm going straight the head of orthopedic I did get an apology for the length of time I waited to see orthopedic but this time it's to do with my diagnosis so straight to the top man so he or she can see exactly what happened and how long it actually took
