Do you know why you had the MRI

Upper back pain

So the MRI was to investigate cause of pain?

inconclusive I would imagine means there was nothing to show any definite cause of this pain.

It might have shown up some old scarring but.not being medically trained it is impossible to guess.

But don't worry. If it had been anything more serious you would have seen your GP and had it explained.

In other words...they don't know!!

Make an appt with you GP.

Thanks for replying well they said inadequate so by the dictionary that means not good enough ,,, hopefully nothing sinister ?? God there goes me over thinking again

Just think of it as radiologist having bad day and fuzzy pictures!!!!

I wriggle once and nearly blew their machine up. They weren't happy as that too was inadequate!!

Thanks I’ll try not to worry 😬

Maybe they couldn’t see anything properly or the pictures weren’t good enough, i would give them a call back and ask what they mean. Do you have another appointment booked with your rheumatologist to talk about the results, or another MRI booked X

I have my next rheumy appointment in March obviously unless she needs to talk to me sooner

in reply toOxopinkyblue

I wouldn’t stress though if they could see something bad etc then they would have told you , maybe it just needs to be done again or it wasn’t the results they thought.

Good luck for your appointment in March :)

I wouldn’t take the word of a secretary she shouldn’t be telling you anything about your results your doctor is suppose to be telling you. No offense to the secretary she didn’t go to school for that I would make an appointment with your doctor and ask him

Yeah I know but I think she was doing me a favour as she could tell I was a bit anxious

in reply tossdw1958

She wouldn’t of actually looked at the MRI and come to that conclusion herself the MRI technician would of written that on the notes and that was what the secretary would need f been reading but I get your point

I’m really trying hard not to get myself in a state about it I’m sure if it had been anything bad I would have had a call by now at least I’m hoping !! Anyway going to try to relax and stop thinking now thanks for your reply will keep you all updated

in reply toOxopinkyblue

Yeah if it was bad they would of called you and going by what she said they probably didn’t find anything.

Don’t worry to much although I know that’s easier said than done x

Hi I agree with the others. I am not surprised you are anxious being told that and you need urgent clarification from your doctor. x

You need to hear the results from your Dr only and if you don't understand keep asking til you do.

Hi there having dealt with my husbands back problems for years I have always found the consultants secretaries really helpful and informative. They would have only read out what it said on the report. The way I read it was what she said to you was your MRI results were not clear and you will possible need them done again. Do not worry as you would have been called in had there been anything sinister xx
