Newbie to this site, but not to pain

I have lived with pain for 70 years. The pain was kicked off by almost having Rheumatic Fever. Since then the reasons and the pain level has been on an ever increasing level. There are days I can't bare the thought of having to move my body. Most of the world does not understand how restricting living with pain is. It colors your day, you life, your choices in life. I could go on. I am hoping this site will help me simply by allowing me to deal with this "curse."

Have you consulted a medical professional ? Please do . GPS really cannot be expected to know how to deal with this kind of thing . Do as for more help.

Thank you for your reply. Where I live the only way I was able to get any medications for pain was to be in a Pain Management Program. I went there for over 3 years. Because I was stable with the medications I am now able to get my medications from my GP. I can always return to the program when I need to. I think the only way I will be free of pain is to be a zombie and surely don't want that.

I hope you have a good day.

Thank you that’s helpful, I struggle with pain and need to be in a pain program too. Are you in the USA ?

I see the medication I find useful is not available in the UK, but is in the US under various names . I think it’s called Aleve ? Or something like that , I found a medical paper on pain relief using this combination saying it was very useful.

It’s a combination of 325 paracetamol, codeine 8 mg and 150 mepbrobomate . Which works , unlike the codeine 8 mg plus 500 paracetamol. Which is too much paracetamol and for some odd reason it slows my digestion down. I’m trying pregablin in very small doses which has helped my mood . And I feel less uncomfortable .

Although I’m concerned to see others find it hard to discontinue .
