Hi,
Not sure if this is news as I have only just found out, this is good news
That is good news for sufferers. It should have always been classed as a disability as there is no known cure and it is a recognised illness.
Always be sceptical! It isn't new, the BBC reported on this in 2016. Basically it wasn't recognised as a condition in Northern Ireland at the time, even though it was in Scotland and England. It is now recognised as a condition there as it is in the rest of the UK.
In the UK individual conditions are not considered or 'declared' as long term disabilities. It is only how the condition effects you that matters. The article itself, which appears to have been written in America (perhaps thus not understanding how the health and social care system in the UK works) actually contradicts itself, in one sentence saying that it is 'declared as a long-term disability' then in the next saying it is a 'long-term condition'.
The website itself is suspect. for example there is nothing under the About Us tab, the Contact US tab appears to be broken, and most of the articles are generic. I suspect it is a website that was taken over from the original owners and is just there to collect advertising revenue.
Sorry to disappoint you!
