I have really bad neck painon the right hand side of my neck, getting worse over the last couple of days. It’s now radiating into my shoulder blade and I have a numb bit on the palm of my hand where the muscle is just below my thumb (no idea what that bit of my hand is called, and it could just be a coincidence).
The only thing I can think that may have caused it was about a month ago I was dancing and managed to twinge my neck in that side so bad that I instantly got pins and needles up the left hand side of my head that was intensely painful, but it was fine the day after and since then apart from the last couple of days.
I cannot look to the right without it pulling and hurting, I cannot even lean my neck to the right.
Is this something I should just manage with pain killers or should I go to the doctors about this? I’m not getting headaches or anything else apart from the symptoms I have explained.
Thanks guys.

You are applying pressure to cervical nerve roots through muscle tension. This is chiropractic and Alexander Technique territory. Investigation can confirm or deny this.
Pain killers are not going to sort out over contracted muscle. All they will do is mask the pain.
Hey there, I'm going through the same sensation right now along with my bad back when you see your doctor I would get pain killers but ask about muscle relaxations such as naprxon or Tramulief you may have to try different medicines to see which works the best for you hope you get well soon
Okey cokey 😁

Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory OkeyCokey, not a muscle relaxant, Baclofen is a muscle relaxant.
Oh I forgot to mention when your In the bath try holding a hot cloth/flannel over your neck and shoulder x
Get yourself to the doctor or A&E. What you describe is the same as me, except mine is the left side and I have discs out pressing on nerves.
Ignore John Smith, he doesn't agree with conventional medicine and using some of the techniques he suggests, especially if discs in the neck are concerned, can cause even more damage, even paralysis!
Sorry about that! Unfortunately the bid “C” doesn’t have friends and can start from the most insignificant ache or pain. It really does not pay to ignore anything. Believe me my troubles all started with just a unexplained weight loss. The doctor sent me for a chest X-ray and I was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer. I had no symptoms or any indication that anything was wrong and still felt completely fit and well. Now of course it has spread to my spine and Pluara.
Sorry about the abruptness of my reply but it just proves one can not be to careful.
The same thing happened to my dad however you could of private messaged him and put it across slightly better. People hear the word cancer and freak out and most the time for no reason
Really sorry sunset, I've been on that many tablets over the years sometimes I forget who's who xx🤨
