Nearly two years I’ve been in pain which started n right side rib cage. Medication, weight loss, gentle exercise and still no better. I’ve had to keep going back to GP due to pain travelling to right side, chest, hips, no feeling, tingles right side, leg gives way. I have ossification in my knees too. Finally someone listened as referred me to a integrated spinal clinic along with a referral to a neurologist. I have a review next week as medication I can’t take regular due to my busy work lifestyle, driving. Is there anything else that could be suggested regards meds. Also mentioned fibromyalgia due to the pain, locations it’s in, other things relating to it. Any suggestions? I’m a 30yr old female who struggles to get in and out of a bath, cars, tired, clumsy, tired list goes on.
Now suffering with stress and feeling down-hubby gets down because of it too.

What blood tests and other investigations have you had to eliminate various conditions?
Have you ever been referred to a Rheumatologist and / or Orthopaedics?
Have you had tests to eliminate inflammation ( C-ReactiveProtein and/ or ESR ). Had any Antibodies tested to eliminate Autoimmune Diseases?
Have you had full Thyroid investigations to eliminate an Underactive Thyroid?
Ask for :
TSH , Free T3, FreeT4 & TT4 blood tests also Thyroid Antibodies - TPO and TgAb.
Also ask for some nutrients levels to be tested :
Vitamin D, Calcium, Vitamin B12, Folate and Ferritin.
Look at the list of symptoms of an Underactive Thyroid on the Thyroid UK website. See how many you can tick.
If you haven't already done so, apply for copies of your hospital records (free of charge now if in UK). Then you will know what's been tested and can go from there.
The only pain meds I can think of are combination of Ibuprofen and Cocodamol for short term. Plus Lactulose medicine for codeine side effect. Could try Ibuprofen after last meal and Cocodamol at bed time. If preferred try Ibuprofen gel.
Thank you for your suggestions, I’ve had blood tests x3 all come back clear. Chest X-Ray clear and ultrasound clear as checking for hernia.
They’ve referred me to a Spinal centre for assessments which is booked for July and I have the neurologist booked in August.
I have been on Diclofenac, amytriptiline, naproxen, gabapentin, currently on Pregabalin. I also have a. Stash of tramadol as and when. I’ve had codeine, coco family and paracetamol. Problem is I have to drive for my job and have done care work for 8 years. I have a meds review Tuesday. I was told to lose weight so I was put on orlistat- I lost the weight but the problem happened before I put on weight.
I will take these ideas with me Tuesday. Hopefully they will listen.
I did but the pain was severe still it calmed it for about an hour 2 I could try at night as tramadol I find it hard to get up in the morning. The pain is still in my rib cage but just travelling to different parts.
You have tried the meds and seen the GP's. They have appeared to have failed you. There is the complementary who deal with issues that GPs know nothing about. The response of muscles and the fine control of muscles by the brain.
You say : "leg gives way.". This may be an indication that your leg muscles are too tight. When this happens you pull on the vertebrate in the lower spine. The result a nerve root is compressed and the leg gives way. This is muscle stretch territory. In my case I get my leg muscles stretched and this sorts the problem for me. When I had the problem my McTimony chiropractor explained to me what was happening and solved the problem.
The first international conference on fascia was in 2007 at Harvard Medical School. Google "Thomas Myers". Google "fasciai.
In regard to fibromyalgia see a sports therapist. This is incurable by pain killers. The treatment for it is to stretch over contracted muscles and get the fascia sliding again. How this is done depends where in the body it is. The treatment can be painful and can take several months. I know because I have experienced it after breaking a bone in my wrist. I had to do various exercises together with a massage regime.
They can teach you about how bad muscle control can cause all sorts of difficulties. They can enable you to develop better muscle control.
Muscles have a nerve input to contract. There are no nerve inputs to uncontract. To uncontract muscles depend on other muscles and the springiness of ligament, tendon and fascia. Sometimes a muscle over contracts and when this happens the muscle needs to be lengthened out by manual means.
All above mentioned can only determined by investigation.
It is unfortunate that doctors receive no training in what faulty muscle behaviour can do.
You should investigate and consider giving serrapeptase a try. It is a powerful enzyme that helps control inflammation, pain and dissolves scar tissue. It is a natural product and has few side effects.
