What do people take for nerve pain. I am on lyrica 100 mgs at night and nothing during the day, and my nerve pain is terrible. I am also on nortryptiline at night 100 mg. I am seeing my pain specialist on Thursday, anyone got any ideas about what helps you during the day. Thanks.

Nerve pain in toes and feet
Hi bunce. I take pregabilin 300mg twice a day helps a bit I have nerve pain from head to toe I have cervical myelopathy 😀
Hello Bunce - I take 150 Lyrica morning and night, I also take Imipramine at night to help me sleep. This does work if I take 2 but sometimes if I take 1 it has no effect and I wake up with pain from neck to toes.
This pain thing is so annoying I always enjoyed walking but I am limited now and I hate it.
Dancing is painful now too and I can't help myself when the music starts.
The doctor just ups my meds you can't see a doctor these days.
Good luck.
Not all people respond in the same way to drugs. So hopefully the pain specialist might be able to look at this and find something that does work for you. Good luck.
Apparently Lyrica in the right dose for each person is thought highly of. I was not able to tolerate lyrica (as already said here each person reacts differently to pain) so instead was put on Cymbalta (which I can tolerate) this drug was originally put onto the market as an anti/depressant and was discovered to have good results with nerve pain. I am taking 60mgms twice a day, as well as Panadol Osteo 8/24 and endone 5 mgs. I was originally on 7 endone over a 24 hour period following very severe life saving surgery & am gradually reducing it and hope that soon I only have to take one occasionally as they are a narcotic. I am down to 3 a day now & drop by 1/2 a tablet each time I drop ( I am trying to do this monthly)
Good luck with finding what’s right gor you

Hi there, I suffer from nerve pain. I am on 1 in the morning 2 in the afternoon and 3 at night 100mg Pregabalin (lyrica) and if it is particularly bad I take 50mg tramadol slow release at night as well. If it is crazy nothing much helps but generally this seems to help reasonably. It was a bit of trial and error so good luck with your appointment with the pain specialist.
For me, Lyrica did nothing for my nerve pain in my feet (heel area mainly) and left outer thigh, and also right foot (less so than left foot). What works for me is oxycodone, taken 4-6 times per day. Having nerve pain is the one of the worse things anyone can go through. I have been living with this for over 3 years now (nerve pain started after a back decompression surgery I wish I never had). Also, try to cut your sugar intake, as high sugar causes pain responses to intensify. Eat a low inflammatory diet as much as possible. Avoid alcohol and get at least 8 hours of good sleep. Long hot showers, stretching, back, and foot massages, nerve stretching, etc. Anything that can calm the nerves in general will help. At least this is what I found.
Do you think raising the Lyrica amount to perhaps 300 split into 3 doses?
I should mention that I have just moved to Lyrica from Gabapentin. This was ok but I hope that Lyrica will be better
