I have psoriatic arthritis and under my nailbeds too. Y nails flick back sometimes and it's so painful when that happens...and they have started to change colour - patches of white. Anybody understand?my nails look horrible and things get stuck inside too! So I can't even grow them anymore 😞
Psoriasis nails: I have psoriatic arthritis and... - Pain Concern
Psoriasis nails
Yes I suffer PsA The nails on toes and fingers become ridged on the surface and although not painful it is unsightly
The real problems occur when Ps gets under and forms on the bed where the nails grow and rest, sometimes the nail on the feet form psoriasis under the nail that lifts the nail. generally part of the nail or sometimes all will be removed to clear the nail bed. this stops the pressure and pain I had a large toe nail taken of and the quick was killed off to stop the nail from growing in again. Talk yo your GP to see a Podiatrist and get your nails looked at. The nail bed eventually goes hard on removal and the Ps returns. They may be able to suggest ways now of treating the nail bed after the nail was removed
Sometime they try and remove part of the nail and allow it to grow back it all depends on how bad the nail is affected

Hi borderriever yes your message makes sense. The nail being lifted is what really annoys me. When I had them long the flicking backwards used to happen so often. And it would be so painful. My feet aren't too bad at the moment but I can imagine the big toe being a problem
I would second Borderrierver's recommendation to see a podiatrist. In some areas you can self refer but in others the GP has to do it.
Hi cyberbarn yes I think I should do so 👍🏼
I too have Psoriatic Arthritis and my toe nails have started to suffer. My big left big toe is the worst, started at the cuticle end and working it's way up, looks gross, told my Rheumatologist and he didn't seem to listen.
