Presuming this is NHS:

The consultant will write to your GP with the results and you can request a copy of the letter free of charge from most surgeries.

If you're wanting the actual scans, you have to pay and the cost varies depending on the size of the records you require. Scans are provided on CD rom.

I bought my whole orthopaedic records for about £50. Although it turns out some had been destroyed accidentally....

I was charged £6 for a cd with the mri scan, report with diagnosis, the hospital would not send in the post I had to order and personally pick up with I.D . ( 2016)

Hi, i am sorry i can't help but your question is very interesting to me because my husband went for mri scan for a few times and don't know how to see the scan result apart from seeing the doctor. Now i know by reading people reply. Good luck!

If you still have your appt letter for the MRI, there might be a telephone contact number on there to phone to ask about paying and ordering for the cd . I think mine cost about £30. It was sent through the post.

What you need to do is request the report and disc of your mris all of them at the place you got them taken. Directly from the radiologist. Never leave without a report and puck the disc up later that day or sometimes doctors wont tll you all the facts. Unless you are rich and elite, then well... i dont know what country your from but any getting ill with similar symptoms round the world. Id get a natopathic dr massage therapist that knows neuromuscular massage or if you cant affor those, get a national geographic book on natural healing plants and follow the diiections to the t. Also a book on healing ouls but make sure there are directions o what to do to steep mix etc. Start learning now and not only wil u get better but u may be able to then help others to heal. Here doctors are working for the elites the government the orld us changing....god bless you and good luck.

Well,I booked to see the doctor to see if he or she can request the results for me.Its just the waiting for a month to see an orthopaedic surgeon it's NHS for you but what can you do.i know what it might be but just waiting for it together confirmed.i look forward to going back to work but a bit scared cause it being back on my feet more.i suppose the only the thing I can do is cope and just be careful,oh with these kinds of tears could you just use one crutch cause I at that stage I am limping less pain and just using the crutch as a support.Just can't wait when I get finally better it's not knowing when.

I had a MRI on my back a couple of months ago now, I had to get the physiotherapist to download a copy of results to show my doctor, the reason for this is that the rheumatology department actioned the scan not my doctor, it seems so silly that the results weren't sent directly to my doctor as well as the rheumatology dept, my doctor isn't allowed to do anything about the results only the department that actioned the scan can do anything about it, oh so stupid really, so I have to suffer until I go back to the rheumatology department at the end of May grrrr

Over the last few weeks I've had an MRI scan and an EEG. This was because I collapse at any time. I know I'm epileptic but have been controlled for some time now. However, for the last few years I've had 2 TIAs, a second haemorrhage and the odd bang or so when I pass out. (A right old headbanger ). Anyway, I phoned up the hospital today and was told that there's a bit of a backlog of about 13 weeks for the MRI and the results for the EEG may be ready but will have to wait for the neurologist to see them, therefore, I'll have to wait for the next appointment.

Hi daveeb. I have only just read this. Anyone can apply for a copy of their hospital records under the Data Protection Act.

I had to ask the legal department in admin at the hospital for a form. I always applied within 40 days of last being seen so I had mine free of charge.

Had to complete form and return with 2 forms of ID. They have to respond within a certain time frame.

I think that maybe they think the applicant is thinking of making a complaint. In my case, I wanted to find out my results. It was the only way I found out all the conditions I have. Not to mention some errors in accuracy !!
