hi my name is tony. for many years i have have headaches and muscular pain so i have been taking paracetamol s for at least 15 years thinking this would help but after reading doctor khan,s report that to many pain killers over a period of time makes it worse.but that s not the only problem now in 2005 i was diagnosed with H C M hypertrophic cardiomyopathy mild heat problem my brothers is more serious. asmah for more than 20 years. but in 2011 i found a lump in my left testical after i had the operation to remove my testical it was sent to be tested to see if it was cancerous. test showed it was. i was sent for more test to see if had spread but it had not. i had found my lump early.so for next 5 years i was tested reguly.but i soon developed pain in my lower ademin. which i still get to this day i reported i was bleeding a lot when going to the toilet the found internal heymeroids which was banded and still have the problem also when i had my operation i stop d breathing the surgeon told me and refer d me to the sleep clinic and for past 5 years i have had my cpap machean to ease my breathing at night. at the same time 2014 i was found to be diabetic god i thought what next the problems this can cause. so i am on metformin now.so back to obstructive sleep i was book in for another op to remove large polyps blocking my nose so november 2015 i had this op so it would help me breath more esea all went well the said i recover d 3-4 weeks i was called back to E N T. to see how everything was healing. or so i thought.that s when they told me they found a tumour under my eye and i had to go for a scan to see how big it was. they said about 2cmt /20mm so thi was not causing me any pain but if not remove it would grow and i might lose my site in my right eye.so i was booked in for op in april 2016 in hospital 7,30 am until 3pm then docs called me in and said it,s to danger to operate they want more test so many months past and then jan 2017 i had the op two plastic surgeon,s performed the op when they opened me up they found that it had lot,s of roots coming off of it growing into my cheek bone so they had to drill it all out 5 hours altogether. but before hand they i would have problems. so i have tear duct has collapsed and blocked so they operated again in september to fit a tube insert to unblock it 6 weeks after they took the insert out but it collapsed again the problem is my eye keeps watering up if out in cold or doing practical things. so they booked me in for another op same sort of thing thi jan but it got canceild. so just waiting for new op date. but the main thing is living with the pain and what of my illnesses is causing the problem s . i got the all clear in march 2016 from my cancer. i just like to say that through all my op s and stay in hospital the doctors sergeons nurses and all staff are brilliant. but the pain does not stop.

Good Lord! I thought I had problems. Sorry to hear you had cancer. Congrats on beating it. I use Gabapentin and muscle relaxers for spinal and cervical stenosis, fibromyalgia and occipital neuralgia. None of which you have. Doc won't give percosets due to opioid crisis. I can say the meds I get don't help much. I have found that exercise has helped more than pills. I feel energetic and in less pain. At first I did not want to exercise. But I started with 15 minutes per day. Now my body craves it. Not sure if this is for you, but you could try yoga and meditation. Give up on pills. They are not worth the cost. God Bless, and good luck from MA, USA!

What a lot to deal with!

Ask your GP to refer you to a pain management clinic for help & support. I've been on two & found them very useful.

Magnesium helps me with pain, sleep, & tension, as well as being an essential mineral. I take chelated at bedtime with water, & use a home made transdermal spray when it's not too cold, though I prefer a long soak in a bath with at least 500g of epsom salts. It's also good to ensure you're eating as healthily as you can: anhinternational.org/wp-con...

Acupuncture is very good for relieving pain. See a real acupuncturist though, not a physio. Look up one near you on the BAcC website, or a cheaper multi-bed clinic on ACMACs website. I also use acupressure every night which helps me unwind. Large Intestine 4 is great for headaches: acutakehealth.com/portfolio...

Hope your appointment comes through soon!

Epsom salts baths are a nice way to absorb magnesium, so there's more benefit than just relaxing in a bath of smellies. :)
