Have had a cough for a few weeks went to doc he thinks I've got acid reflux .i mentioned I was an ex smoker and he examined my chest and said my lungs and oxygen levels were normal but gave me a referral for a chest X-ray but said why have radiation if not needed.left decision up to me .Well decided today to have xray as I know I'll just worry otherwise. Hope I've done right thing wondered what others think .xxx

Yes you deff done right thing and your doc gave you x ray form.they seem to ask this with x rays and antibiotics now maybe new guidelines

Hi there is only very minimal radiation in a chest x-ray and they are very commonly done so please don't worry about it.

I think you are right in having it done otherwise like you said you will just worry about it. x
