Increasing pain and dwindling pain meds

I have a tarlov cyst on my s2, fibromyalgia, osteo arthritis is every (yes every single) joint. I have Ehlers-Danlos type 3. Have been in constant pain for years and have taken 10/325 percocet for at least 20 years. Lately, with the addition of the tarlov cyst in on my spine it has started to adversely effect my already osteoarthriticridden hips. I can't walk, sit, lie on my back or either side. Now with all the extra new pain, they decided they should start cutting my pain pills! So the worse I hurt, the more pills they take away. I need help. I'm at wits end on how to deal with this ongoing and increasingly worsening pain. I ice as often as possible a 5% lidocaine patches are barely touching the pain. Any suggestions welcome. Please.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with your conditions or the 10/325 percocet.

Can't imagine what you are going through.

Have you read the Tarlov Cyst informotion on the Tarlov Cyst Disease Foundation website? Far too lengthy for someone in such pain and I'm too tired now but scrolling quickly to the treatment/management section I read mention of TENS. Also Lidoderm patches for temporary relief. You've probably tried all theses anyway.

I suppose at some point you have also tried high doses of ibuprofen with either paracetamol or cocodamol for short term pain relief.

Sorry I can't really help.

Hope someone with more experience / knowledge can soon.

Sending Love

God Bless

Have you been given a reason for the decrease in pain meds? It seems perverse. My GP surgery keep trying to cut back on mine too, and my pain is also getting worse. I believe it is all about cost, and although I understand the problem, I don't see why I should be expected to cope with the consequences. So far I have managed to keep everything except the NSAIDs, which were stopped because I have developed an ulcer to add to the list of the other complaints !

Are you seeing a rheumatologist? If not, you need to get.you family doctor to refer you. Unless a person has experience of EDS and several back pain issues as you and I have, they couldn't possibly understand.

There are some fantastic support sites and groups out there. Someone out there will have the name of a doctor that will be able to understand and sympathise rather than make.life harder. Good luck! And if you need an ear to bend. I'm here :)

I take 1-2 omega-3 capsules and 1-2 Osteo Bi-Flex capsules per day and my pain is gone completely. These supplements are anti- i flammatory remedies. I love them because they also help lower BP, triglycerides, and have no side effects. Do not take NSAIDS, they raise your BP and may cause stroke or heart attacks. Omega-3 is a miracle supplement. It does away all pain naturally. Osteo bi- flex can be bought at walmart, drug stores, and grocery stores, not expensive. It contains glucosamine, chondroiten, omega-3, boswellia serrata, vit c. All good things, you will be excited how these work. I have arthritis but no pain now. It works for all kinds of pain.
