I had a hip replacement 5 months ago, and I Still have severe pain all down my leg. The doctor says it might be because my leg is now about 1 cm. Longer, but I Feel it is more of a sciatica pain. What kind of doctor shall I See for a second opinion?

Severe pain after 5 months of having a hip replacement
Cel_ina I am sorry to hear that after going through the trauma of having hip replacement surgery that five months later and you are still in pain.
One way that may sound silly but would help you self diagnose the cause would be quite easy. Just around the home you could try wearing a nearly flat shoe on your long leg and a 1cm heel shoe on your short leg.
If your Doctor is correct then you should see a reduction of discomfort. If you could do this over a whole weekend then it maybe able to provide you with a cost free answer.
Kind regards, Rib
I agree. I routinely walk with one croc on and one for barefooted. I thought my leg was longer than the other also and found out that my hip does not fit into the socket any longer so I think it is longer.
You may well need a shoe that is higher or lower on 1 foot

Thank you for your advice. Iwill try it.
Good luck, I have one good year after my implant and 5 years of pain, because of bursitis, had two opinions, but neither will take it out and I am week, try to exercise but then I have arthritis and sciatica so I cannot get relief. Take care
OMG! HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP YOU!
