I've been having hip pain since I was 15 (maybe even before that, I'm not sure) I'm 25 now. 10+ years of pain and I have had ENOUGH! I need suggestions, please.
My left hip has a restless/burning-type pain that causes my entire left leg to feel restless as well. It's the absolute worst when I'm sitting down. It gets bad when I'm laying down to the point I cannot get comfortable no matter how I lay. Walking around actually HELPS the pain. Standing still for too long however, makes it slightly worse, not as bad as when sitting or laying, though.
I went to the chiropractor for 5 years and it helped some(not very much), but when I stopped for just a month, the pain came back worse than before. I've been to the ER to have X-rays on my back and they say nothing is wrong. I just want this pain to go away. I can't deal with it anymore. Please, if anyone has any ideas as to what I should specifically ask my doctor to check, I would greatly appreciate it.
Edit: Having my left leg bent and cocked off to the side tends to alleviate the pain for a short while. Also, ibuprofen doesn't help any more. Naproxen doesn't help. I don't want to have to take heavy-duty prescription painkillers, but the pain is unbearable.

Good god 10 years of pain are you on any meds ? What did your chiro say it was ? Could be trapped nerve hip bursitis sciatica piriformis syndrome si jont pain
I'm not on any meds right now, just been trying to cope with over the counter stuff. Chiropractor just said I had several things out of place, thing is after I stopped seeing the chiropractor, the pain got substantially worse than before I started going to the chiropractor.
That normally that means its working if you can try going back too the chiropractor, if you can no pain no gain I've had pain like yours started in my ribs then moved down towards my lower back and hip the hospital have said its my si joint muscle pain had it over a year now I know how you feel I'm on a cocktail of drugs
I don't want to have to pay the chiropractor for the rest of my life. It's a temporary fix that doesn't last barely a month. I was having to go 3 times a week for 5 years and it didn't help much.
Yes it's not cheap I went for 10 months last time my back was bad. Have you tired a si belt ? They seem too work take care
So sorry sweetheart, I take Opana ER for my pain. Its a pain killer but I don't have any bad side effects. It is addicting but it's not like my pain is going away. Hope this helps. Hang in there. xxx Mitzi
Certain infections can get into the bone. These tend to be anaerobic bacteria. The ones that can live without air and are difficult to culture for that reason. These are the same ones that cause a tooth abscess. Metronidazole is usually the antibiotic of choice. If the bone feels hot then it is worth running it past your GP . Just a thought. Sheila
