Dry Cough for over a month

My friend has a dry cough for about a month now. She's been getting it in the daytime and has said that she also has a consistent lower back pain. Does anyone know what she might have and if there are any remedies for it?

the best thing to do is go to the doctor. the two may not even be related, only a doctor would be able to tell you this for certain. all the best. love grace xoxo

The doctor gave her antibiotics but she said they didn't work so she's going back tomorrow.

Surely she'll have let the antibiotics work for a few days. ... for them to take effect.

Yes. I'll have to ask her if anything has changed.
