Spasms in arm

I have severe pain travelling from shoulder down arm and into fingers on right side ,the pain is like spasms and as if I've got a ton of lead in arm ,pain is severe ,I am so depressed with this ongoing ,I take naproxen but doesn't seem to help that much can still feel the pain .

Apologies for suggesting the obvious, but a trip to your doctor and take things from there.

In the meantime go easy on your right side.

Sounds like some issues with your c spine. could be a number of things causing a trapped nerve. you need a mri to find out the cause. this could take months. what have your doctor said? x

I have had xrays ,and all bones are fine apart from wear n tear on back of neck, surgeon suggested maybe coming from muscle between shoulder blade had a injection. Injection only lasted 2 months ,pain has came back with a vengeance not coping very well ,severe pain. Have made appointmentment for doctor to further investigate to get a diagnosis ,unbearable pain ,so depressed ,,I use naproxen not even taking edge of it ,

Sounds exactly like what I went through for 11 months. Finally got a mri of my neck after being pain for all that time and now know the reason behind it. I had numerous xray etc and all came back clear. have you had a mri x

No not had MRI Victoria .just xray which was clear .was suppose to follow up physio.which I cancelled. Thought the pain was cured with injection.but was wrong only lasted 2 months and has gradually been getting more pain got injection in endo June ,pain came back October ,feels as though its like lead and spasms running from shoulder right down to my fingers ,can't seem to function at all ,naproxen is only med I have been taking .feel so worthless and depressed with it.

I so know how you feel. I had physio, xray on my shoulder, neck and chest and all came back clear. I would ask for a mri. That's the only way you will get to the bottom of it. i was sick of being in pain so was very demanding when I asked for mine. I have 4 bulging discs and cervical stenosis. I'm now on butrans patches of 25 mg and have a appointment with the spinal surgeon on the 24th of January. I have also had to go sick at work. yours may not be as bad as mine but without a mri you will never find out. hope you get something sorted. please let me know how you go xx

Gawd o know how you feel please don't let it longer I cry e dry day with it now for past seven years Ftdr cR crash they still all it fi ro I swear that's Ll I ever here I'm waiting for helen so I can Co plain ti the big yin himself one day lol plesse though get it seen to asap as it ruins your life good luck

This is a description of the sort of effects you can get from extended discs in the neck. You need to see both doctor and chiropractor. Naproxen will not take pressure off nerve roots and can make the situation of damage to nerve roots much worse. This is a possible physical therapy problem.

I have only mentioned one possible cause. There may be others. This is why needs doctor and chiropractor.
