There is nothing to stop anyone applying for PIP, you would have to go through the claim process which due to your anxiety etc may be difficult for you without support. Best of luck if you go ahead.
Since PIP is a payment given to those to enable them to be or stay independent, I don't see why not. Your independence is seriously compromised by your conditions, hence the need for your daughter. Be honest in your application and make it clear what you absolutely cannot do without help.
Hi Brandy, Welcome to Health Unlocked. I'm sorry I don't know anything about PIP but many years ago whilst caring for my very frail Mum who I nursed fora long time we applied for Attendance Allowance for her and we really had to persevere to be able to claim this allowance. It was a matter of keep trying and not giving up as the forms were long and complicatated asking the same question in several different ways trying to catch you out. My Mother got fed up with it all but I wouldn't give up and in the end we managed to get the allowance. I honestly feel that the system is set up in such a way as to deter people from claiming. We managed to find a community health visitor at our surgery who filled in something I remember. if you have anybody at your surgery or in the community that you could ask for advice it would be helpful. I would say, never give up, keep trying as I'm sure you will get it in the end. Wishing you Good Luck and hope you get it.

Hi Brandy63! Welcome to the site, you'll find many caring people here who can support and help you. I would say you should definitely try to claim PIP, it's there to help you stay independent and you can claim ESA and PIP at the same time. When you get the form, make sure that you state very clearly how you anxiety affects you and always talk about your worst days and what you cannot do. Hope it goes well, let us know how you get on Xx
Welcome to the site Brandy, pip is based on your mobility essentially, from what I understand, there are others on here that have a better insight into your condition and how you can apply. Follow their advise, one thing I will say is if you apply never give up at the first hurdle, keep at it.
You need to see someone who specialises in benefits law. You are asking a question which needs legal advice. In your local area there must be organisations which help benefits claimants. You need to seek their advice.
From the little you have told us there is no reason why you shouldn't apply!
PIP is about what help, you need with day to day life.
What you do need to know is whole system is set up to NOT pay out! Get help to complete the forms. CAB is a good place to go. Also if you look up there web site it gives good advice on how to complete the forms. They needed pushing to help me complete the actual forms but did in the end.
You will need to insist on a home assessment and explain why you can't go to assessment.
Hope it goes well.
There is no reason you should not get this payment, if you can talk to your GP and any Hospital Clinics and explain your needs they will be approached and will send out reports to DWP. Good luck with the claim. Are you near to Retirement. ?
