You need to discuss this with your GP, I was just in having an operation on my hand

If you feel in anyway you need advice, call telephone 111 NHS Helpline, they will triage and advise

When I had carpel tunnel, medications didn't help at night. I worked at a computer all day. What helped me was wearing a very secure wrist brace (the kind with metal inside, about 6" long.) when I wore the brace all day, sleeping was easier. I recommend seeing your GP ASAP. Once I had the surgery I was able to sleep and haven't had any trouble since.

Last year I had one of these electronic sensitivity test, nothing found that was below reading, this year exactly one year later I am book in for four small operations, two on each hand and and elbow. now I have an eight week weight for the first two and the other two sometime next year. My hands feel like a power press has dropped on my hands and they are trapped there and the press feels as if it cannot be released, this is the only way I can describe it. Not funny at all? rather sickening if I'm honest I am counting down the days for the first of these two operations.

Hi u need to get u gp to refer u to a hand specialist they can help with the pain and they can also send u to have a electronic sensitivity test that should tell u how bad the carpal tunnel syndrome is I had both off my hands done the test came back as both bad, the hand specialist told me that i would need a operation on both hands he told me before the operation that it may work or not so I went and had the operation it did not work and I ended up with crps he did not tell me that I could get that, and in the end I had to have my left arm amputated because the crps was so bad

Cannot comment on the pain. Concerned about the numbness. This can be pressure on a nerve or cutting off of blood supply. Need to go to ER sooner rather than later.

Small muscles can go into micro cramps. This can put pressure on nerves causing pain. See someone who knows how to massage muscle cramps and see if that reduces the problem.

Hope this helps.

Try lying on your side with the painful hand/arm resting on a pillow beside you. I find putting a splint on the wrist also helps - if you don't have a stiff wrist support, then fold up a magazine, put it along your arm from palm to elbow, and bandage loosely around it to keep your wrist from moving.
