Hiya,
I'm just wondering if any one has experienced nightmares after naproxen at nighttime? The nightmares are quite bad and wake me up. During the day it causes me no problems other than a small amount of drowsiness.
Thanks in advance X

I don't know about nightmares but I have noticed that if I take naproxen at night it keeps me awake - or I have one of those nights where I'm in and out of sleep anyway (perhaps because of weird dreams?). So I tend to just take it through the day now (I only take it occasionally, when needed - not daily).
Bob Scott, If I was you I would go back to your Doctor and ask them to change your medication ASAP. As they do not agree with and state why.
I started naproxen in June, when they stopped making voltorol. I haven't noticed this problem, I feel very hungry all the time and it gives me wind ! Funny how drugs effect us differently, speak to your GP for his advices as there maybe an alternative. Good luck.
Thank you for all of your advice, it's very much appreciated. I'll mention it to my GP at my next appointment with her😊X
The nightmares are a result of the sulphur in the naproxen. Maybe try ibuprofen instead
I'm currently having issues with this. I had surgery last week and the nightmares are so intense I end up hurting myself.
Yes, horrific nightmares only on Naproxen. For example dreamt my boyfriend who was a pilot crashed his helicopter in my backyard. Then the dream got even worse.
Hi. Yes I also am finding if I take Naproxen later in the day I have very bad nightmares. Very real feeling. Not nice at all. I try not to take them but sometimes pain requires it. Are you still having issues Stretchygirl?
Hi I just took 2 naproxen right before bed, I woke up a few hours later with a very disturbing dream! So I would say naproxen gives me nightmares...
Yes! Been on them for 5 days and the last two nights have woken up screaming from the most horrific nightmares (plane crash, lost child) at exactly 4.15am and then cant get back to sleep. Searched naproxen and nightmares and found this thread. Time to quit. At least they seem to have sorted out the problem I was taking them for.
