Pain relief: please give this a go, you have nothing to lose and hopefully it will help some people with their pain manageability. 😊

As a complementary therapist I see how amazing the power of touch is on the mind and body; It is ture that touch and massage are instinctive and intuitive. I see how using massage, aromatherapy, hot stone massage or reflexology helps clients with their pain, helping them get some relief from their pain and more importantly relaxation not only for them but myself. 😊

I encourage my clients to help themselves by using a golf ball, as funny as this sounds the texture on the golf ball makes it a perfect tool for self help tool. By rolling the golf ball between your hands, slowly all over the plams of your hands you are giving yourself a form of reflexology working all the knots and tension out of the body. The neck is just where the fingers meet the palm of the hand, so working slowly over this area you will feel the crystal popping for yourself, your also working shoulders at the same time. The lower back is the thumb pad, by working the whole of the plams your helping yourself and your internal organs like liver, kidney, spleen , digestive system and lungs ect.... to balance and recharge themselves. Give it ago and let me know what you think of it. There are lots of massage balls and tools out there, but most people can get hold of a golf ball for free. Why paid if you can borrow one or find one in charity shops very cheaply.

Good luck trying it it definitely worth using little and often, I suggest 10 to 15 minutes at a time; please don't over Use!! As you can will make your hands sore, plus you can watch telly while doing it so win, win.

If any one has any questions about this please just ask me many thanks Tanya 😊

Give it a whirl I use one daily for myself 😍

Great idea.πŸ‘

Thank you let me know if you find it helpful, it's nice to share xx😊

Hi, I was a bit apprehensive (which is the polite word lol) when I started reading your post, must have been my built in cynicism coupled with a bad pain night...

BUT, nice post! Great idea, thanks for sharing with us all.

I will be trying it today, and will let you knew how it works for me.

Rob x

Hi Robbackpain uk; you have nothing to lose so give it a try; it's about finding what works best for you. What works for one person doesn't always work another; you won't know until you try. Xx

Let me know how you get on 😊 enjoy rest of your day

Thank you very much for sharing this, I will definitely give it a try! :) Is there a spot that would help with pain in the feet?

Hi flames, where is the pain in your feet? Soaking them in a bowl of warm water with 2 table spoons of Epsom salt and some peppermint essential oil; this is great for aching feet, swelling and pain too 😊 xx if you let me know where the pain is as it usually relates to the body as well as the feet.

Enjoy your day 😊

Hi Tanya

Unfortunately It is not just any old ache or pain hun, I have Neuropathy in both my feet and hands, feet are the worst though. The pain is all over. It's just horrendous and the meds I take for it don't take all the pain away.

Agree with what you say except for the TV. The TV will prevent mindfulness observation of how muscles work.

Hi cat33,

The lower back hip and pelvis area is at the bottom of the palm of the hand where the pad of the thumb is and to the over side of hand on each hand.😊 xx it will feel uncomfortable to begin with when your in pain, but as your not touch the actual hip it only feels uncomfortable on your hands. Hope it helps you x little and often during day and night if you can't sleep. 😊

Enjoy having a go Cat33 you have nothing to lose ❀

Sounds like a great idea to try. I will be doing it today. I am always interested in alternative medicine as well as dr's, meds, etc. is it worth getting a massage once a month that is all I could afford. I live in Atlanta GA US. My pain is related to pelvic floor and muscle and nerve tension as well as back pain. The former is very painful at this time. Thank you for sharing your idea.

Thank you, for your message. It's a nice to hear you have regular massages; they obviously work for you I am pleased they do. Most people can't afford to have treatment as much as they need them. Which is why I try to offer them things they can do for themselves in between times.

I am so sorry to hear your suffering with your lower back, nerve pain is very painful😣 do use use ice packs to reduce pain it good a blocking the pain. Heat can also help too xx

I hope your get some relief from you pain look after yourself gentle hugs xx 😊

I am sorry. Thank you for answering but there is a little misunderstanding. I was wondering if it was worth the money to try to get massaged maybe once a month or once every two months. Do you think just a few massages would help? For me it seems like it's great at the time and then as soon as I go back out in the real world it is like I never had one. Does the body keep the effects even if the mind does not? Thank you so much.

Hello Tanya,

Thank you for sharing this. I've been looking for a golf ball since I read your post a few days ago. Happy to say I got one today and I'm looking forward trying it.

Hope today finds you a little better than yesterday.
