Hello docnai

I suggest your GP goes back to medical school. Of course you can have arthritis in your shoulder. My Husband has had it for many years - confirmed by Xrays.

What type of arthritis do you have? I have rheumatoid arthritis and I can assure you that you can get artritis in your shoulders.look at the information on arthritis on the NHS choices website. Good luck

I have trouble with both shoulders, GP, rheumatologist, physio and X-rays/scan all diagnosed arthritis. However before I saw the rheumatologist I had trouble and physio and was told Id a frozen shoulder due to the physical work I did - a lot of lifting. I am sure I did have a frozen shoulder, but the underlying issue was I expect always the arthritis. Persist with them to make sure they check everything and I hope you get some relief also. I found the cortisone injections beneficial.

Honestly! And we are in the hands of ignoramuses like this! You might as well

have asked a passing stranger for their advice! Anywhere there is a moveable joint, you can get arthritis in it.

Yes I have it right now apart from also in the elbow, hands, hips, lumbar, heels, feet, ankles and knees etc in fact wherever I am touch I hurt. They only spend a short time studying arthritis. It is not long enough when most of the population will get it at some stage. Night time is worst when I lay them on the bed. I feel sorry for him not knowing what most of the population knows.

I had pain in my shoulder which was caused by a trapped nerve in my neck.

Glad It's not my GP

Yes, you can get arthritic pain in your shoulder. Although, when I complained to my doctor about it she just thought I was pregnant. Silly woman! I've had RA for 7years now.

It's a joint. Arthritis effects the joints. End of. Ask to check his degree certificate (only joking). At least you are getting a scan and you haven't just been written off as "depressed" or something.

I have enthesitis in my shoulders, one worse than the other. For me, the enthesitis is just part of a much more widespread spondyloarthritis.

Of course you can get arthritis anywhere in your body, my sister has it all over her body including her shoulders. she's been told she more than likely will have to have replacements there as well, she already has ankle replacement and hip replacement by the time she was sixty. what sort of doctor is that. they like to bog ppl off.
