adhesions
Hi poppydoo
I had my gallbladder removed 6 years ago and I still get pain if I eat a meal with a little more fat than usual it's even worse. Take care. Xx
Hello. Yes, I still get some pain and heartburn if I eat rich food. I have many adhesions after 5 abdominal operations and TB peritonitis and these cause pain and IBS. No easy answer I'm afraid. Best wishes.
Hi poppydo, I had my gallbladder removed by major surgery in 1984 and have never had any problems except for about two years after of upset stomachs. But I hear a lot of people who had it done by laprascope who do continue to experience pain. Also adhesions can be very painful if inflamed. Oh sorry I did have one problem a hernia at the incision site, which I had repaired with day surgery no problem or since. Sad to say not everyone experiences a no problem out come. I wish you every best wish in finding a solution to your on going pain that is best for you, some foods can be the culprit and ibuprofen is a no no after gallbladder removal for many as can paracetamol or aspirin hope these tips help
I had my gall bladder removed in 2008 by open surgery and I have quite a big scar. I was meant to have keyhole surgery but due to an emergency, I had to be opened up very quickly. My scar does hurt and feel tender from time to time, but I seem to have a lump very close to the scar about the size of a golf ball, which I guess must be some adhesion. To be honest i have never reported this to my doctor and I think i may have a hernia in my stomach. When my op was carried out they also repaired a hernia where my belly button is and now if i tense my stomach i have a massive odd shape in my upper stomach. Im sorry I have not been much help but just wanted you to know that you are not alone.
Hi, I can certainly relate to the pain of adhesions. I was admitted due to intense pain and now, have had to learn live with the pain, which flares up from time to time. If you are in pain all the time, it would be a good idea to see your G.P. or ask for a referral back to the Surgeon, with the intention of being re-assessed. I do hope it all goes well for you.
I had my gallbladder removed several years ago. All I felt was relief as gallstone taken out with it was the size of an egg! Get further checks made, if only for peace of mind
