Ask your GP to refer you to a rheumatologist if you have bad arthritis - you need them to check if its inflammatory arthritis or osteoarthritis. Inflammatory arthritis is two main kinds - rheumatoid arthritis (which usually shows up in blood tests) or spondyloarthritis (which doesn't show up in blood tests, and which always includes problems in your spine and sacroiliac joints as well as other places). Inflammatory arthritis needs to be treated properly, because you can slow down the disease, rather than just trying to deal with the pain.
