Both Avastin and Olaparib can cause joint pain. Side effects from Avastin take about 3 months to subside after stopping (from experience). Your treatments may have triggered arthritis . I was diagnosed with arthritis after chemo. If the pain is not easing it may be a dose reduction of Olaparib might help. Worth discussing with your Onc. You might want to look at joining the fb group for Lynparza/Olaparib support . I hope you find relief.
I had pain from Avastin that did eventually go away but it did take about 6 months to really stop hurting.
Hi, I have been on bevacizumab/Avastin every three weeks since last August. I have very bad pain in my arms, my right calf and right heel. I also have a frozen right shoulder. They sent me to physical therapy which hasn’t helped at all. Now they want me to see an orthopedist. From what I’ve read on here, many others have felt side effects like these. Hopefully, the longer it goes since you took Avastin, the better you will feel.
Hi, just to add to the helpful comments from the other lovely ladies, I am on Olaparib and have joint pain. Sometimes it’s a lot worse than other days. My oncologist has said that some ladies found that moving more/ exercise helps with the joint pain. I know this sounds like the opposite of what you want to do when you are very stiff, but I have found that when I am more active (walking somewhere) it eases slightly. I also had a dose reduction but didn’t have it lowered further in order to keep its effectiveness. Joint pain is worse when I don’t move for, like trying to get off the sofa! Sending you best wishes for your treatment and recovery X.
Thankyou so much x x
Hello, likewise I had joint pain on avastin affecting my right shoulder really bad. I found that doing gentle yin yoga exercises helped. Although painful to start with, they relieved the pain in the joins. I did them everyday. Plus walking helped with pain in leg joints.
Thankyou it's nice to know I'm not the only one but I've noticed since I've come off avastin I'm not get the pain as bad I still get it if I over do it I have had a good week this week first time ever in almost two years I've been on avastin so fingers crossed it gets better (again THANKYOU so much for replying and hope your doing great against this horrible disease xx)
