3MRI scan yesterday - results devastating

Three metastases were found in my liver on MRI .My Radiologist is my best friend and she told me.

She was crying too.

She says she will get me the best treatment but I'm not optimistic that there is much that can be done.

I'm assuming I'm now stage 4C from 3C

I believe this makes me terminal.

Does anyone know of any additional chemo drugs that can be added to the Carboplatin and Pacitaxol that I'm starting on the 21/01.

On the scan there is also a gray blob coming from my liver going to my right kidney.

This needs investigating.

I've been having some amall sharp pains in my liver area, but just ignored them, thinking they came from the removed peritoneum that I had during surgery at Basingstoke where I was treated for what was initially thought to be PMP and was later found to be Ovarian cancer,

I guess they are the metasteses.

So Sorry to hear that. You can try ADC drugs if you are platinum resistant. I think they have lunched in Europe. It is combination of chemo and parp and less side affect than chemo. Love from China and wish you can live with the tumor as many people then can live with their tumor for many years.

I am so sorry to hear this. I can understand your devastation. It does not mean it moves to stage 4 terminal. It remains the stage c. New treatment will be given. Good luck.

Oh this disease! Never gives us a break. What has your oncologist said? Do they have a treatment plan? How is your general health? Would you qualify for a trial? I had a metastasis on my liver that they have used SABR on. Hopefully it's gone although not had a scan yet. But possibly if there's more than one you might not get this targeted RT but there may be something else.

Otherwise, I am using alternative treatments as well.

🙏🙏 Prayers and hugs xx

Don't jump to conclusions, please. 4b, even if you are, can give you many years of life. I know people who are still living after 10 years. Things you say need investigating. Wait until you have the whole picture and a plan. Your radiologist was unprofessional in crying. I was told by a stupid registrar at my first visit that there was an 80% chance of a recurrence within 18 months. It.s been 3 years and I am still NED.

I’m sorry your cancer has spread to your liver but they do often use other treatments on the liver, like radiotherapy. You say “in the liver” but it may be on the surface of the liver. You should ask. As someone else said your stage doesn’t change from your original diagnosis. I would get a second opinion from a top cancer center and see about trials of targeted therapy.

You may want to explore the histotripsy procedure. It has been approved for liver cancer in the U.S. and it can be used for other types of cancer that have spread to the liver rather than just primary liver cancer.

Sending you some good vibes. I was diagnosed 19 years ago stage 4. I had metastatic lymph nodes in my neck. I have had many treatments over the years and many years of good health. The Beast has never gone away but does lie quietly at times. There are lots of good news drugs and trials out there. Enjoy every day and keep a positive outlook as much as you can. People do survive stage 4 and don't survive stage 1. It is not a death sentence. The right drug might be just around the corner for you

so true! This cancer is not the same as other cancer. Many people live many years even at stage 4. Pls be positive and focus on getting better

Sad to hear this. But darling, keep asking your team. Don't assume anything. Make notes of your queries and ask the team. Try not to google and find "answers". Sending hugs.
