As temperatures fall in UK I listened to warnings about falls on ice and made a mental note. I have been trying to walk every day while on chemo (carbo/Caelyx for 3rd recurrence).
i was about 200 metres from home yesterday when I looked down and realised the pavement which had looked fine was actually icy… the next moment I was flat on my back. My left arm is badly broken and I am having surgery tomorrow.
i feel so stupid! Usually I walk in local woods where the surface is more forgiving, I just happened to be on a pavement in a frost pocket.
So if you are pushing yourself to get out there just take care!!

Oh Lyndy... I am so sorry to hear you need surgery, broken arm... Must've been really painful! Me too, I usually walk near by woods or beach, beautiful isn't it.
I nearly slipped yesterday on pavement. Thank you very much for reminder.
Thinking of you, and sending you lots of love and speedy recovery ❤️
Dear Lyndy, So sorry to read that you have slipped over and broken your arm. I hope the op. goes well and wish you luck with recovery. Definitely not what you want, especially while you are trying to keep active throughout chemo. x
Sorry to hear you fell & broke your arm, as if you haven't enough going on already. Frost over here in Ireland too, but temperatures are nothing as low as you have over in the UK. Hope the op goes well & you will be back out walking again in no time X
Oh Lyndy, I am so sorry! The last thing you need is a broken arm at this point. You are so generous with your help to others on this site.
I fell on ice and hit my head hard about nine years ago. It was scary! I hope the surgery has gone well and you can start to mend and that it doesn’t interfere with your chemo! Xx
Oh Lyndy. As if you you didn’t have enough to cope with. There always seems to be something else to deal with. Wishing you a trouble free recovery and hope you cope with the challenge of managing with one arm, along with other challenges you are dealing with x
So sorry Lyndy that’s really bad luck when you were trying to be so conscientious with your walking. I really hope your op goes ok tomorrow and your arm mends well. Sending big hugs and best wishes for your recovery xxx
