I don't know anything about the hormone treatment but go for it. You are a real trooper. I am on a trial now with avastin and parp. I am braca negative. My disease is stable. I have never been NED and was diagnosed stage 4 in 2006. Sending you good vibes
It’s great to hear that you’re stable after being diagnosed with stage 4 in 2006 and never being NED. You made my day. I was diagnosed with stage 4 in January of this year. I’ve had 9 chemo treatments, carbo & taxol with Avastin added for the last 2, trying to get my CA-125 below 1000 so that I can have surgery. CA-125 was 17,000 in February. Now 1500. It’s progress but slower than expected. Fortunately, I’m tolerating the chemo well. Have a great day!
Interesting to read you are having Avastin even though BCRA negative. What is the parp? It’s always so good to read about those who are doing so well - thank you for sharing x
I was taking PARP inhibitor Olaparib, recommended for BRAC 2 positive for 7 months. These inhibitors hold down the protein which is known to feed the cancer.
CT scan results showed they hadn’t worked as did my raised CA 125. Had to go back on Chemotherapy
Paying privately for Avastin as not had before, worth trying as other than chemotherapy, hormone inhibitors for ER positive is the next step.
If your archival sample is too old to be tested it can be possible for a new one to be taken for testing to see if you are eligible to be considered for the GLORIOSA trial.
Thank you Lirene for the interesting information linking Gloriosa trial to the Target trial. Last meeting my Oncologist mentioned the possibility of Target for me but not Gloriosa. He will discuss with me at Septembers meeting in more detail.
Brilliant news Target is nationwide with Christie’s involvement which is an hour away for me if I’m excepted. 😊
